Privacy
HB Tools is designed to know as little as possible about you. Here, in plain words, is what stays on your device, what goes through our server, and what is never collected.
Who is responsible
HB Tools is developed and published by netVD, an independent digital studio based in Switzerland. For any question, write to us through the netVD contact form.
No account
The app asks for no sign-up: no name, no e-mail address, no password.
What stays on your device
Your callsign, locator, settings, enabled tools and any ADIF log you import stay on your phone or tablet. They are not sent to our server, except in the cases described below.
What goes through our server
- Propagation: your 4-character locator grid (a square of about 150 × 110 km), to find the signals received around you.
- Weather and MUF: your position rounded to about 1 km.
- Who hears me?: your callsign, to look up the stations that decoded you.
- HF noise: if you report your noise level, your 4-character grid, the band, the level and your optional note. Reports are visible to other users without a callsign and deleted after 30 days.
- Alerts: if you turn them on, your device’s notification token, callsign, language, rounded position and alert rules. Everything is deleted when you turn alerts off.
- Errors: after a crash, a technical report (error message, app and system version), with no personal data.
Where the data lives
Our server is in Switzerland, at Infomaniak. It queries the public sources itself (NOAA, PSKReporter, KC2G, DX cluster, POTA, Club Log, Open-Meteo): your device never talks to them directly.
What we don’t do
No ads, no trackers, no audience measurement, no selling of data. This website sets no cookies either.
Subscription
PRO subscription payments go entirely through the App Store or Google Play. We never receive your card details.
Your rights
At any time you can turn off alerts (which deletes your alert data), delete the app (which deletes everything on your device) or ask us to delete your noise reports. Swiss law (FADP) applies.
